Tonight only … Divisions, a multi-sensorial representation of Sophocles’ classic Oedipus Rex, is a hi-tech, tragi-comic, mini-masterpiece.
The timeless tale of a Greek with a complex, who flees from a horrible fate only to land himself right in it, Maria del Mar Grañena’s hand plays the king whose perspective is projected by a tiny camera. Joan Pascual Ros stars as the dodgy Deus Ex Machina, the ‘hand of god’ that lifts Rex to safety only to dump him closer to the terrible truth.
A Tuvalú production, with music by Paul Christoph Rose, visuals and direction by Beatriz Liebe and text, in easy-to-understand Catalan, by Andrés Kalawski.
Divisions can and should be experienced at Nau Ivanow tonight at 7pm, €12. Book here in advance to make sure of a seat.
